During the third step of a four step approach the right foot moves foward (right-handed bowler) as the ball continues into the backswing.

While the third step is in motion the non-bowling hand (left hand for right-handed bowler) continuess moving forward providing body momentum.

At the end of the third step ( four step approach) the ball is at the highest point of the backswing approximately shoulder/head height and 90 degrees in relation to the spine.
