In general, if the head and the body is to far forward in the stance and in the movement to the foul line there will be a loss of leverage in the release and finish position. A good mental picture is to imagine a weight lifter leaning too far forward while attempting to lift weights. Leverage and balance would be greatly affected.

If the body is too upright and rigid during the stance and/or the movement to the foul line (approach) then excess leverage will be the result and this may cause hitting up on the ball too early at the point of the release.
